Netflix Inc. (NFLX), the largest subscription video-streaming service, is in talks for another season of “Arrested Development,” said Brian Grazer, co-chairman of the production company, Imagine Entertainment.
Binge viewing isn’t new, but what Mr. Gilleand did next is, signaling a new wrinkle in the increasingly interactive experience of watching television: he uploaded the episodes to his computer and re-edited the series, unpacking the show’s original nesting-doll narrative and presenting it in chronological order.
The new Arrested Development is not just a seven-hour movie. It’s something new—a collection of episodes released altogether that can be remixed and recombined and that gain something from each juxtaposition.
Arrested Development fans have had the catchy pop confection “Getaway” stuck in their heads for a month, ever since Netflix released the show’s Season 4 episodes. But there has been no official way to download the track — until now.
