  4. Sixty-Second Synopsis (Mike):

Although he may be doing time (or rather, the time of his life) in prison, George Senior is still trying to run the family business from behind bars. This doesn’t sit well with Michael, who is tired of his father running (and occasionally ruining) his life as a result. Michael is getting fed up because the family is running out of money, and George mentions that “there’s always money in the banana stand.”

Meanwhile, George Michael has been feeling feelings for his cousin Maebe he maybe shouldn’t be feeling, so he asks to work more hours at the banana stand to maybe avoid feeling those feelings. Unfortunately for George Michael, Michael wants to inspire some work ethic in Maebe and commands his son, now Mr. Manager, to bring her on as an employee. As Lindsey puts it, if she knows her daughter, that stand won’t be there in a week.

Of course, George Michael and Maebe aren’t the only ones working hard. GOB is asked to mail an insurance letter, Lindsey gets cast in a TV commercial about a fire sale (while Tobias’s hopes of being cast in the same commercial go up in flames), T-Bone, himself a flamer, gets a job at the banana stand, and Michael realizes George Senior is STILL running things from prison.

After things fall apart at the banana stand, George Michael decides the only solution is to burn it down. Surprisingly his father agrees, in an act of defiance to prove he will no longer be controlled by his father. Unfortunately, Michael later finds out quite literally that there was “always money in the banana stand” when George Senior loudly informs him that there was $250,000 cash lining the walls.
